Party time at Formby RDA!

Our Merseyside Chair, Jennifer Hoggarth, attended Formby RDA’s end of year party  when riders are presented with awards to celebrate their riding activities, with the event being supported by a grant from the NW Region.

The evening started with fabulous food.  There was a parade of horses used in RDA sessions and a bit of the history of how each arrived at Bowlers Riding School: from one that was rescued from living in a back garden, another abandoned on the doorstep, to owners phoning from France to loan their pony and even a joke bid during a game of Bingo!  This was followed by a race between an assortment of costumed characters: Deadpool vs cuddly dinosaur vs chicken was a sight that will not be forgotten!

The amazing Mary Bowler (92 this year) took great delight in presenting the trophies and rosettes to riders. Amongst the adult riders were a couple that Mary herself taught as children which is a wonderful testament to the endurance of this long running RDA group.
