North West Riders Shine at the RDA National Championships 2026

Riders from four Groups in the North West Region travelled to Hartpury University & College in Gloucestershire for the RDA National Championships, held from 10 to 12 July. With 650 competitors and 179 classes, the Championship is the UK’s largest equestrian competition for disabled riders and a wonderful celebration of achievement, talent and community.
Participating NW Groups and Classes
Participants from East Liverpool RDA, RDA Isle of Man, Crosby RDA and Nantwich & District RDA competed across a wide range of classes, including:
· Dressage
· Showjumping
· Countryside Challenge
· Showing
· Art and Crafts
Participants from Crosby RDA and Nantwich & District RDA competed on their own ponies, while riders from RDA Isle of Man competed on ponies kindly loaned by Morpeth RDA. East Liverpool RDA travelled down with their own ponies and also did a fantastic job supporting Mikey who was the only rider from Crosby RDA.
Celebrating Achievement and Team Spirit
Every participant performed fantastically well and made the whole Region proud. It was lovely to see so many people there, sharing in the joy of their own Group’s successes as well as celebrating the achievements of others.
It was also wonderful to see Groups going above and beyond to support riders from other Groups. The Regional Committee sends many congratulations to everyone involved, and a huge thank you to all those who helped make competing at the Championships possible.
