Fundraising for Foresters' Horn
Foresters' Horn RDA group, who ride at Wirral Riding Centre, have had a busy two weeks of fundraising.
On 1 July sixteen riders, parents, volunteers, friends and family did a highly successful exit bucket collection at Chester Racecourse and raised an amazing £1,390. Then, on 8 July, they held a coffee morning, which was a brilliant success, and up to this point they have raised a further £850.
As part of the coffee morning, which was held at a local hall, they had a raffle; cake sale of home baked muffins, scones, tiffin and other yummy treats; games for the children; and there was a prize giving and riders were presented with Endeavour Awards.
Foresters' Horn were so grateful to all those who supported them at both events and especially to their amazing volunteers who not only give up their time every week for their ridden sessions, but also baked, ran raffle stalls, and collected money at the weekends.
In recognition of her efforts, Anne (who organised the coffee morning) was presented with a beautiful horse trophy as she won their “Volunteer of the Year”.
Such fundraising efforts, and the support of the wider community, is absolutely crucial to RDA groups to ensure they have funds to offer the fantastic service they do. Amazing volunteers who undertake all the different roles, including fund raising, are an absolutely vital part of the RDA family. Huge well done to all involved.
